Sinking Sand

You know that old Hymn that says, "On Christ alone will I sand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand?" This song comes from the Scripture:

Matthew Chapter 7
The Wise and Foolish Builders
24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

When we were at the beach, I would stand in the small part of the ocean, where the water just barely comes and covers your feet. Even that small amount of water, when the ocean would roll back would pull the sand out from under my feet. I thought of this Scripture and song and how true it is.

Scripture calls God a "Rock" in many places:

Deuteronomy 32:4 (New International Version)

4 He is the Rock, his works are perfect,

and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.

Psalm 62:7 (New International Version)
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God ;

he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Anyway, you see my point. God is our rock, our refuge, our very present help in time of need. Don't build your hopes and dreams on the sand (THIS WORLD) because it will sink and fade away. Build your life on the ROCK of our salvation. The only thing worth living for!

That's what I'm going to do!
